Beyss has been manufacturing lightweight vehicles and velocipedes since 1991. For over a decade, Beyss has been advancing the design characteristics of it's Go-One to meet the market demands of the most discerning velomobilest. The legendary Go-one prototype was inspired by Michael Goretzky. His flair for innovative design was a contributing force towards the development of Diamler Chrysler's European SMART car. Until you see the pedals under the canopy, one would assume this is a small sports car!
Michael Goretzky and the Beyss Company decided to work on the Go-one together. The original forms of Mr. Goretzky's prototype were laminated, in order to modify them piece by piece. The design is based on the "form follows function" principle. The ability of the design to adapt into everyday life was a major goal of the team.
The wheel housings were formed to prevent water splashing and the ventilation inlets were relocated for superior airflow. The large acrylic canopy was soon divided into two segments with the aft section made to be fully removable, so that the driver is able to use the go-one as a convertible in summer.
The Go-Oneł is steered using a “T-Tiller” joystick. The joystick is the single most important feature of the bicycle car. It also allows us to run a very narrow front track giving the Go-Oneł a small frontal area. To turn the two front wheels the rider simply twists the joystick around its own axis. This requires minimal movement and occurs almost subconsciously giving the Go-Oneł an almost telepathic quality to its steering. Mounted on a universal joint, the joystick folds forward allowing ease of access to the seat. The universal joint also allows the joystick to move with the rider when transferring body weight during rapid cornering maneuvers. One lever operates both front brakes and the gear shifters are also mounted on the joystick enabling the rider to remain totally in control.
Why settle for a mundane, 3,000lb behemoth, even if it has an electric or hybrid power plant? What other vehicle can you "recharge" with a sports drink and a power bar? The go-oneł is truly a next-generation vehicle that you can own and enjoy today and not worry about where you are going to refuel it, how long it will take and how far you can go. The go-oneł is virtually limitless!
You can now stop dreaming about the go-oneł and start riding it!
