Welsh Cycling Icebreaker Omnium Series Rd 2-3 With the roaring success of the first round of the Welsh Cycling Icebreaker Series, the second round looks set to be even bigger and better!
With a field of over 100 riders entered for the first event and similar numbers building for the second event, you can guarantee another display of great racing action at Newport Velodrome.
Event organiser Michael Heaven said, “The first round was just preview of what these young riders can do. Now the riders know what to expect you can certainly put money on the event being faster and more exciting for the second round”
The Mayor of Newport will be on hand on February 20th to present the prizes to the riders.
With the success of the GB teams over the past few years, youth track racing has taken off massively in Wales and across the UK. The Icebreaker events are aimed to give the young riders an opportunity to showcase their skills in a top class facility with a high standard of racing.
Young riders such as Robbie Westwood, Rebecca Hunt and Amy Roberts will be just a few young stars looking to emulate their fellow pro Welsh riders Geraint Thomas and Nicole Cooke.
Once again there will be spot prizes along with the medals for each round and overall series trophies.
The events are pre-entry only at £7 per round or £20 for all 3 rounds.
