Greenville, SC—Hincapie Sportswear (Hincapie), manufacturer and marketer of distinctive clothing for the performance cyclist, has hired Larry Merling as retail sales representatives for the brand in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. Effective immediately, Merling will represent Hincapie for retail cycling apparel and accessory sales to independent bicycle dealers and sell Hincapie custom cycling clothing to clubs and teams in his territory.

“We are really focusing on our distribution and growing our US sales force this year,” said Rich Hincapie, president of Hincapie Sportswear. “The Hincapie name is pretty popular in the northeast, so it’s important for us to have a strong sales rep in that area. Larry has some great experience that will help us build our business in his territory.”

Merling brings more than 15 years of bicycle industry sales experience to the Hincapie brand representing major bicycle brands like, Bianchi and Raleigh America. He got his first job at a bike shop at age 15, and he’s been riding and selling bicycles ever since. In addition to Hincapie Sportswear, Merling will represent other premium brands like, Bianchi, Profile/Bellwether and Magura/Uvex/Vaude.
