LAS VEGAS - Sept. 21, 2010 - Today hundreds of retailers are at Day 2 of Interbike OutDoor Demo in Boulder City, Nevada demoing the latest bike products before the indoor portion of Interbike 2010 begins tomorrow at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas.
While at OutDoor Demo (Sept. 20 - 21), Interbike attendees get to test the latest bikes, components and accessories from nearly 120 exhibiting manufacturers.
Participating manufacturers and retailers felt encouraged by OutDoor Demo\'s international representation, reception to ebikes and comprehensive product offering.
\"It has been a great show for us so far. We have 50 bikes here this year, while the most we\'ve had in the past was 35. This year we\'re really being perceived as a mountain brand. Our new products like the Genius LT and our new carbon 29er have been out all day. We\'re seeing a lot of business from South American, European and Asian distributors and dealers. \"
- Adrian Montgomery, Marketing and PR Director for Scott Sports
\"We\'re here to get dealers to trust e-bikes, see how they work and see how easy they are to maintain. Some dealers that have been completely turned off by ebikes in the past have gotten on our bikes today have said, \'These are actually pretty fun.\' At the indoor expo this week we\'re revealing a drop bar road bike that\'s an electric assist -anything to stimulate the conversation about ebikes.\"
- Kurt Hall, Product Engineer for Torker Bicycles
\"We\'ve talked to a lot of people today, in fact, everyone we\'ve wanted to. We get to meet people here face-to-face that we usually work with only over the Internet or on the phone. As far as the products go, you can read all of the magazines if you have time, but you can come here and get a crash course on a lot of the new stuff really quickly. So, what I\'m hoping to do over the next week is to learn more about the products without doing all that reading that I don\'t have time for anymore. \"
- Russ Wait of Tryon Bike in Rochester, New York
\"The industry needs a central location like this where you can objectively compare multiple bikes and multiple components. It is a lot different looking at a catalog than looking at parts out here at the Demo, getting the real thing in your hand and riding it. Opportunities to actually have a physical experience with the product, as opposed to just talking about it, make a difference. I am really having a good time doing it.\"
- Mean Mac Milleur of Green Mountain Sports in Lakewood, Colorado
Following OutDoor Demo, attendees take to the Sands Expo and Convention Center where they will spend the remainder of the week (Sept. 22-24) viewing full product lines, scoping out the latest trends, attending educational seminars, finalizing buying decisions and networking. A full schedule of the week\'s events is available here.
